Most MMA fans don’t consider fighters to be the very best if they’re not fighting in the UFC. They’re often right, but not always. History should tell us that. At one time Conor McGregor was a nobody from Ireland and Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, Gilbert Melendez, Donald Cerrone, all fought outside of the UFC, but when they were eventually signed they proved to be some of the best fighters in the world.
Nothing has changed, some of the best talents in MMA are currently fighting outside the UFC. Here is a look at 5 fighters who in all likelihood would be very successful under the UFC banner.
Michael “Venom” Page
Micheal “Venom” Page has been compared to the likes of Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. He has dominated everybody he’s been in the cage with and done so with an absolute confidence. He is currently 12-0 with 9 first round victories.
Bellator MMA added him to their roster in 2013 and in his debut he finished Ryan Sanders in just 10 seconds. He’s now 8-0 under with Bellator and has garnered a lot of attention with his flashy style. Dancing in the middle of fights, looking away from opponents while dodging their strikes and peppering them with his own. Michael Page has the “it” factor the thing that separates great fighters from good fighters.
I imagine it will only be a matter of time before we see MVP in the octagon. His star power is undeniable.
