Titan FC 43 put on a solid card tonight. Things got tough when the co-main event for the vacant heavyweight title was scrapped, but the card delivered none the less.
Jose “Shorty” Torres said he wanted to send a message to the UFC brass and boy did he ever. Pedro Nobre had a tonne of experience, but it didn’t mean much. Torres pushed forward and cracked Nobre with some powerful shots dropping him. He closed the show with some ground and pound. Nobre contested the loss and it may have been a little premature, but he took some serious shots.
Michel Quinones made the most of being bumped into the co-main event slot. Both fighters landed clean shots and had their moments, but ultimately Quinones was able to pick up the unanimous decision victory in a great fight.
Olympic wrestler Gustavo Eddy Balart spoiled the debut of Carlos Hernandez, picking up the unanimous decision victory. Hernandez seemed to have the more well-rounded game, but what Balart does well he did really well tonight. Hernandez just wasn’t able to prevent the takedowns, or counter the top pressure of Balart. Overall it was a great showing for Balart, who moved his record to 2-0.
