Titan FC 43 will kick off 2017 and it will be headlined by a flyweight title fight.
Current champion Jose Torres (3-0) will take on Pedro Nobre (18-2). The two were originally slated to meet at TFC 42, but Nobre came up injured.
The undefeated Torres has a bit more experience than it first appears. He went 8-0 as an amateur before making his pro debut with Titan FC. His rise in Titan has been quick. He made his debut in March of this year and just five months later he was champion after a second round knockout Abdiel Velazquez.
Nobre had a brief stint in the UFC in 2013, one fight kind of brief. He fought Iuri Alacantra and the fight was ruled a no contest after Nobre was caught with an illegal knee. Dana White believed he was looking for a way out, because he had been dominated the entire fight and wasn’t actually hurt. That was the end of Nobre’s time in the UFC. Nobre is 3-1 under the Titan banner with his only loss coming against Tim Elliot. He made his way back into the win column with a split decision win over Sid Bice his last time out.
Titan FC 43 takes place Jan. 21 at Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla., and the entire card streams on UFC Fight Pass. Here is a look at how TFC 43 is shaping up:
